Remodeling Your Bathroom Affordably, Part 2

Remodeling Your Bathroom Affordably, Part 2

Remodeling your bathroom while on a budget can be done. While transforming your home can become more expensive than you anticipated, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Remodeling your bathroom while on a budget can be done. While transforming your home can become more expensive than you anticipated, it doesn’t have to be this way. Here are some more suggestions for how to remodel your bathroom quickly and affordably

Refresh the Caulk and Grout

Tile, caulk, and grout are three of the most important parts of your bathroom. And yet, they are often overlooked, both when you clean your bathroom and when you give it a makeover. One surefire way to save money is to do some simple cleanup. Keeping the bathroom clean can be a chore, but it doesn’t cost much to get some brand new caulk and grout. It comes down to what you want to do and how tight your budget is, in all honesty.

Refinish the Fixtures

Another idea is to refinish the fixtures in your bathroom instead of getting brand new ones. However, this advice comes with a word of caution. It only really applies tubs and showers, since those two pieces are much more expensive than any other component of your bathroom. However, the sink and shower fixtures should be replaced instead of refinished. The reason for this is that refinishing these fixtures isn’t very common. As a result, the services rendered will come with an eye-popping fee.

Save Money by Buying Used

If you intend on remodeling your bathroom on your own, which we don’t recommend, then you can save some money by buying used pieces instead of choosing brand new ones. This method is a great way to save money on toilets and showers. If you truly want to install your own parts and remodel the bathroom without professional assistance, dig deep into some internet research to find the best places to shop around. Use keywords like “bathroom” or “upcycled” to help streamline your search.

Be Environmentally Friendly

One last piece of advice is to go green. Believe it or not, becoming environmentally friendly will help save you some green in your wallet as well. One way to do this is to opt for low-flow showers, sinks, and toilets. Saving water makes a huge difference, so don’t dismiss the notion. One more thing: redecorating the bathroom can also help, and it won’t call for a taxing investment of time and effort to pull off, either.
