Fantastic Home Hardware Upgrades to Consider

Fantastic Home Hardware Upgrades to Consider

Sometimes, a remodeling project doesn’t need to be sweeping in scope. All you’ve got to do is change some of the hardware around the house.

When one season winds down, it’s time to reconsider the different aspects of your home. In other words, see what changes you can make before the next season officially begins. Sometimes, a remodeling project doesn’t need to be sweeping in scope. All you’ve got to do is change some of the hardware around the house.

By the Curbside

One hardware upgrade that is often overlooked is the decorations on your home’s exterior.  One small change to get you going can make all the difference. One idea is to upgrade the metal numbers outside your home that show your house number. Changing the hardware inside your home is something that probably happens a lot, but when was the last time you thought about the hardware on the outside? They are, after all, just as important. Find a fresh finish and new look for the numbers that both add some pizazz. Just make sure they’re easier to see from the road by your domicile.

Improving Organization

Another way to enhance the hardware in your home is to improve your organization potential. Instead of leaving coats and sweaters on the floor because your closets are full to bursting, consider hanging hooks on the walls instead. These additions can be mounted in the garage, in the laundry room, or the mudroom. You can even hang them on the back of the bathroom or bedroom doors where they can double as handy places to hang up wet towels to let them dry off. Plus, you can keep track of car keys and pet leashes at the same time.

Consider Coloring the Doorstops

A doorstop can help prevent damage to your walls. The doorknobs can punch holes in drywall if the doors are slammed with enough force, and that’s why a doorstop is so vital. But you don’t have to stick with dull old chrome or brass finishes. You can assign them different colors and have all of them match, no matter where in the house they are found. All of the tips can have the same color too!

Shelving

Putting shelves in closets, garages, and laundry rooms are another great way to cut down on clutter and give your home a neater appearance.

Kitchen Cabinets

Don’t forget about the hardware attached to your kitchen cabinets! The knobs and pulls can all be updated according to current trends and personal tastes. Impress your visitors and get rid of any cabinet hardware that doesn’t work or isn’t accessibility-friendly anymore.
